I hope your week has been amazing so far!  Is anyone else obsessed with the Gingham trend ?  Everything is showing up with this print- even shoes!  Gingham reminds me of my childhood days in the 70's, and brings back lots of feel good vibes from that decade.

Lately I have been trying to spend more time at my sewing machine . I've been sewing since I was 13,  finding the time has been very challenging. Right before I left on vacation, I made this Gingham cold shoulder top.

If you sew and are interested in making it- check out this the pattern by one of my favorite sewing bloggers and designers: Mimi G.  Believe it or not, I purchased the fabric at Walmart.  Sometimes you can find super cute fabric for a great price.

A Gingham top is the perfect piece to pair with your shorts, jeans, or with your favorite skirt. I am also loving anything cold shoulder right now!  We have been having very toasty weather in Seattle, so we decided to shoot where it was cooler by the water.   I hosted a blogger friend this past weekend from Idaho. She taught me some great pointers on shooting my own photos and took pictures for this outfit.

I was also so excited to score on these pink suede booties! I found them at Charlotte Russe , and have linked up a similar pair. I styled this outfit with two different bags. The jean basket bag was a thrift store find at Goodwill .

How are you styling your gingham this summer?

Thanks for stopping by , until next time

  10. You did such a great job DIY-ing that top with so many cute trends: gingham, cold-shoulders and ruffles. I cannot believe you scored the fabric at Wal Mart. Love love both shoes and bags you paired this with. It turned out great and I loved it so much I featured it on my blog today as one of my Thursday Moda favorites. So check it out below and join this week's linkup too dear Valerie. =)

  18. I've always loved gingham and bought 4 things in gingham this summer. So far I've shown a red and white gingham dress on my blog. You look so lovely in the top you made. Blogging AND sewing? Where to you find the time? Love the could shoulders style. My new off-the-shoulders top is black and white gingham, that I'll be showing sometime in August.
