It's the end of summer, which means several love birds have taken advantage of the good weather and already tied the knot. I'm sure there are more weddings planned for September and beyond. I don't usually write about weddings, but thought it'd be fun to share what I wore.
The decor was amazing too, isn't it the cutest?! The groom is our friend's son, and we have known him since he was a little guy of 5 years old. It was so cool to watch him grow up get married. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a super fun reception. I loved watching the first dance. The best part: their dog Denver was trying to boogie down too! Ha, he kept running in circles and in between them.
What I Wore
Since it was an evening wedding, I decided to go with a midi length dress in a light cotton. It was the perfect length to stay warm as the evening cooled off. Off the shoulder has been favorite of mine, and I have been wearing it on repeat all summer long. This dress worked great ON the shoulder as well as off. When it got cooler, voila- I just pulled the shoulders up to stay warm.
I didn't bother with a special handbag. With the event being outside, I did't want to worry about keeping track of it. I'd lose my head if it wasn't glued on! I wore the cutest ever denim block heel shoes. My feet were buried in the grass and hard to see, but I am wearing the same ones from this outfit post I did earlier in the spring.
What to Wear
The rules of what to wear to a wedding are broad. When it comes to style...everyone is breaking the rules. That's when creative art happens! When you are thinking of what to wear , try to find out the theme ahead of time. This will help with planning your outfit. Different weddings call for different types of dress. This wedding had kind of a shabby chic -country theme. I didn't know before hand, otherwise I would've worn cowboy boots..yee haw!!
AW that's the perfect outfit for a late summer wedding. and what a beautiful wedding, too!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jhumki, have a wonderful day!
DeleteSaw your post on High Latitude Style and had to stop by. I love how weddings now are so personalized and informal. The table to honor relatives who have passed is such a touching part to a wedding now. I went to a wedding in July, so it was hot, but everything was indoors. I wore a sleeveless dress but wore a sparkly shawl/scarf over my bare arms. It did start to get cold though with the AC so I had wished I had brought a warmer top layer. Love your shoes!
