Hello Lovelies:
I hope the New Year has been treating you well. This week, I am sharing this outfit I recently sewed. Scroll on down for all the details!
City Girl Style
Back in the fall, I saw an outfit featured on the pages of In Style Magazine. I immediately fell in love with it, and wanted to recreate the look myself. I looked around online, and in local stores to find similar pieces.
I had no luck finding anything similar. When I can't find what I'm looking for, then usually I make an appointment with the ole sewing machine, ha ha! Luckily, I found fabric exactly like I saw in the magazine. I wish I had photographed the article to share in this post, but my throw away habit got in the way again!
Faux fur and vintage prints are trends that are very popular this winter, and were this past fall too. I am just obsessed with blush pink. This color has such a soft, feminine touch. I'm not really a fan of pink, but I am now! This outfit is perfect for winter, and also for transitioning to spring. I love the small floral vintage print of the skirt, paired with the texture of the fluffy jacket.
Valentine's day and my birthday are just around the corner. I think pink faux fur is the perfect piece to celebrate! I completed the look with a gold clutch, and pink suede booties. The gold heels are so fun, and add just the right amount of bling. This outfit is a good choice for a night in the city, or if you are traveling to special event. Bellevue was the perfect city to try it out for the first time!
Thanks to my friend Rebecca of Eastside Fashion for helping me with photography. Check out her blog for chic fashion, and beauty trends.
Other News
As I mentioned in a previous post, my site is getting a huge facelift! The designer is working on it as I speak, and the new template will be up and running soon! My blogging niche is changing up a bit also. Travel will now be my main squeeze. My audience stats show that my travel posts are a lot more popular. I also plan to add restaurant reviews here soon, so I am super excited about that!
Outfit posts have been a huge challenge for me. I don't have a photographer, and it gets very expensive to constantly hire someone. Self photography is super challenging too. Travel photography is much easier, and I enjoy it so much! I will still be doing style, and fashion event coverage- but will try to put a travel spin on most of my outfit posts.
I also made reference in an earlier post about an exciting announcement: I was invited on my very first travel press trip! I was just a tad bit excited to see that email a few weeks ago! I am not going to reveal "where" just yet, but soon! I hope you will stay tuned. I'm trying to think of a creative way to break the news! It is almost weekend time, and I get a 3 day one this time, woohoo! Enjoy yours and do tell me :
When I travel I tend towards pants more than skirts. I also like to keep everything in the same color schemes for ease of packing. Then I bring in pops of color to spice it up.
