Happy New Years Friends!
I hope you are stepping into the New Year with a bang! I wanted to share winter outfit ideas you can style on a budget. I also wanted to reflect on some inspiration I received recently, hopefully it inspires you as well.
Over the holidays I went to the theater with the family and watched Mary Poppins Returns. I was a huge fan of the first movie, as a kid in the 70's. The 2nd movie was just as amazing. One of the songs in the movie really inspired me:
" There is Nowhere to go but Up"
These words are going to be my mantra for this year. Sometimes life throws us curve balls. It can seem as if we have hit rock bottom, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Just know the only way to go now is up! You will rise again, and things will be better than before.
I recently went through a difficult personal experience. I not feeling my happy self. I made some changes with my career and a new chapter has started. Stepping out of our comfort zone and choosing to be positive in adversity helps us to move on.
As we'v heard before " Life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we respond to it. On that note, always remember " There is nowhere to go but up!" Here are a few lines from the song:
As we'v heard before " Life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we respond to it. On that note, always remember " There is nowhere to go but up!" Here are a few lines from the song:
Life's a balloon that tumbles or rises
Depending on what is inside
Fill it with hope and playful surprises
And oh, dearie ducks, then you're in for a ride
Look inside the balloon, and if you hear a tune
There's nowhere to go but up
Choose the secret we know before life makes us grow
There's nowhere to go but up
I hope those were inspiring words for you to tuck away when hard times come. Now, time to share details on these looks. Statement jackets are so versatile and easy to style. I can't get enough of them! You can usually pick them up for a good price and they are great staples to style many of your outfits.
1st Look:
I never used to wear tennis shoes except with work out clothes. Now I love to pair them with all styles of jackets . They look especially great paired with a moto jacket. I completed the outfit with a fun hat, I later used for New Year's Eve.=
2nd Look:
A black fur coat is perfect for dressing up your jeans. Add a pair of pink suede booties, and you have an outfit for shopping or a casual night out.
3rd Look:
Ah, leopard is always a win with me! I have been hunting for several months for a new leopard fur coat. Everywhere I looked this fall, the price was outrageous. I would've had to eat macaroni and cheese for days, ha! Leopard is the new black- you can pair it with almost anything. I see so many creative ways to style it. Just go bold and try it with all sorts of colors and styles.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope all your goals and dreams come to pass this year. Thanks for visiting and all the support this past year. I try to post most Wednesdays, so hope you will come back next week!

I love those pieces! That pink jacket is so versatile, it would be a great way to give a little pop to an outfit. The black furry jacket is so cute too. These would be good wardrobe staples because you could switch them up.
