*This post is in collaboration with the Women in Business Summit Las Vegas. I received a complimentary ticket into the show in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Last week I had the awesome opportunity to attend the WOMEN IN BUSINESS SUMMIT at Palace Station Casino. It was an entire day packed with keynote speeches from influential women ( & men) breakout sessions, networking and delicious food! I'm very blessed I was able to attend and meet new faces.
The Women in Business Summit was founded in 2016 by Monica Coburn, who wanted to create and event for women entrepreneurs to be inspired and network with other women business owners. The Summit kicked off with epic musical entertainment from Jennifer Lier!

KENOTE SPEAKERS
Captain Sasha Larkin
Las Vegas Metro Police Officer Larkin delivered the main keynote of the Summit. She told her story of personal struggles growing up and being raised by a single mom. The theme of Sasha's speech was: Closing The Loop – How Women Can Rise as Leaders and Thrive in Today’s World.
It was moving to hear her speak about the sad day of Infamy here in Las Vegas. October 1st, 2017, the day 58 precious souls lost their lives in a mass shooting. Sasha was off duty that day and was scheduled to leave on a trip to Hawaii with her husband. (She tied this story in with her speech theme.)
Instead she sprung into action to help save lives and bring calm to a very desperate situation. The stories of heroism and the community pulling together, brought tears to my eyes. I'm thankful for the service of the blue everyday. It was a special trea to meet Captain Larkin!
Jerry Metellus
Jerry is celebrity photographer, visual storyteller and motivational speaker. He was born to Haitian parents in NYC. He grew up in Montreal Canada. He inspired attendees to be the best version of themselves and celebrate the unique talents and gifts you have within.
A gifted entertainer with many talents, Jerry Metellus had an early fascination with the camera and limelight. He started as a model, dancer and actor. He is now enjoying life as a sought after photographer and personality in Las Vegas.
His claim to fame includes working with many celebrities including: Paula Abdul. Mike Tyson, Jerry Senifeld , B.B. King and most of the main hotels and casinos in Las Vegs.
Nikki Fargas
We had the president of the Las Vegas Aces in the house- Nikki Fargas! It was exciting to hear Nikki's story of perseverance and rise to fame. She was hired to lead the organization this past spring and gave up her role at LSU as head coach.
The owner of the Aces, Mark Davis said " It was important to find someone to bring the team into the future." At the summit Nikki announced all women in attendance would be treated to complimentary tickets to an Aces playoff game. Yassss- can't wait to attend!
NETWORKING
I enjoyed the opportunity to network and meet amazing women. The highlight of the day was meeting a female airline pilot- first time for that! I met Dianna when she sat down next to me at breakfast, before the summit started.
Dianna is quite an inspiring lady! She flies for United Airlines and for Zero Gravity, a flight experience simulating what it's like to be in space. She is a very busy career mom to 2 small boys. I was very inspired by her accomplishments!
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
There were four sessions; two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Each session included 3 seminars to choose from. Two of my favorites were: the "Power of a Linked In Profile" by Kim Eberhart and " Better Stories, Better Business" by Darren LaCroix. Other speakers at the Women in Business Summit included: Donald Pearson, Shannon Miller, Elizabeth Hunterton , Maureen Zappalla, Ed Tate and Judi Moreo. A complete list of speakers can be found on the WIBLV website.
FOOD AND AFTER PARTY
We were treated to delicious food all day long. Breakfast was over the top and lunch was yummy too! Plenty of snacks and drinks were available for munching in between seminars . After the show ended, w we were invited to an after party reception at Cinebarre. We ended the night relaxing with an incredible balcony view of the Stratosphere!
Thanks to Monica for hosting and to Lola for facilitating my attendance. It's one of the best experiences I've had since moving to Las Vegas. I look forward to attending next year, and hope you can too!
