The Palms
The Palms Hotel and Casino reopened this past spring under new ownership. An overhaul took place with major changes to its eateries, entertainment and sportsbook. The remodel was done with locals in mind. The hotel has more long term changes planned; something different and special that locals will love!
Attracting locals is going exactly as planned. We go to the
Palms pool every week .This is MY FAVORITE spot to swim, relax and unwind in
Las Vegas. Step into an inviting European vibe, with beautiful Tuscan decor. Pretty foliage cascading over the walls of the upper level pools is a refreshing touch.
At the PALMS; there is NO CHARGE for locals to swim during the week. If you choose to come for a weekend dip, it's still reasonable at 10.00 per person. Better yet, if you want to reserve a room for the night; some come with private pools. The Palms is located on Flamingo, an OFF THE STRIP resort.
Elia Beach Club
Elia Beach Club is at the Virgin Hotel, located behind the Las Vegas Strip. The pool is not open to the general public, entrance is only availabel to hotel guests. This Pool used to allow the public into the pool via the guest list, not anymore. The pool boasts a mindset of escape, with it's Mediterranean colored pool and musical style.
Bands play often at the beautifully designed stage, with a straw thatched roof. It's the focal point of the venue that attracts guests to be part of a fun experience exuded by the performers. If you love the feel of a sandy beach, this is the place for you! This pool is one of few in the area that has sand to dip your toes and lounge on a man-made beach.
The Westin Lake Las Vegas
This is another amazing resort and pool in Las Vegas you will love! As mentioned in a previous post, the Westin is my go to for a local escape. It also has European vibes to entice you without leaving the country.
Unfortunately the Westin does not allow locals to swim unless you are a guest of the hotel. The pool is out back and offers a quiet oasis far away from the strip. The Westin is located on the outskirts of Henderson, and is a short drive from Boulder Highway. After you cool off at the pool, enjoy a delicious meal or cocktail in the lobby lounge. If you are a member of Marriott Bonvoy, you can ask for a reduced rate, should you decided to book a stay.
Green Valley Ranch Resort
Dive into poolside luxury at Green Valley Ranch Resort Pool, at the District. Spend a day relaxing and recharging at this amazing oasis in Henderson, a 15 min drive from the STRIP.
Swimming and sunbathing here is the ultimate Las Vegas experience! We spent and afternoon here and absolutely loved the quiet serenity and beautiful pool grounds. Enjoy refreshing beverages delivered to your lounger or daybed. There is plenty of room to spread out, and enjoy yourself in this stunning setting.
After the swim, walk 5 minutes to the the District for an upscale shopping and dining experience. The District is one of my favorite places to hang out! It's always a fun and exciting getaway, just a few minutes from home!
The Mirage
I stayed at the Mirage a few years ago for a girl's trip. The pool was my favorite part of our stay! The tranquil setting is amazing and feels like you've been transported to a tropical haven. The pool is considered a favorite "backyard" on the strip. Beautiful cascading waterfalls and lagoons await you. The massive pools are heated and there are plenty of chaise lounger chairs to go around.
The Golden Nugget
Experience the best of Las Vegas at this 30 million award winning pool! Get up close and friendly with the sharks- ha! The closest you will get is viewing them through a glass tank. The TANK POOL and Hideout Complex boasts a 200,000 gallon shark aquarium and 17 private cabanas to rent.
I've never swam in this pool yet, but it's on the bucket list! I go to Freemont Street often, and I always stop in to watch the sharks from the hotel windows- close enough for me!
The
Hideout pool is located on the 3d floor and is an adult only pool for ages 21+. The Hideout features an infinity pool, beautiful cabanas perfect for up to six guests, and daybed options for up to 4 guests. The Hideout pool complex is only accessible to those who have reserved a daybed, cabana or chaise lounge.
The Excalibur
The
Excalibur Pool is a paradise fit for royalty! This resort pool is very inviting with its big bright pops of orange coloring. We stayed at the Excalibur in early April; the temps outside were warm enough to swim and the water was perfecto!
Excalibur's pool grounds feature a lush tropical landscape with over 30,000 sq feet of deck space. On the property are four luxurious pools. Everything is at your finger tips for a luxurious day in the sun! If you'd rather do a pool day without the kids, a separate pool is available for ages 18 or older. Also onsite, is a slide and 19 cabanas; each one stocked with all the goodies to keep you cool for your day by the pool.
The Trump
I stayed at the Trump Hotel on my 2nd visit to Las Vegas back in 2015. I was in town for fashion tradeshow and LOVED our stay, especially loved the pool! This is your perfect desert oasis getaway just behind the Las Vegas Strip.
Enjoy a pool day away from the most bustling parts of Las Vegas. Your desert retreat awaits you at this tropical getaway. The pool isn't huge but there is plenty of room to go around. I loved relaxing here wi, not many crowds like some of the strip pools.
An added bonus of staying at the Trump; the FASHION SHOW MALL is located directly across the street from the main entrance. It doesn't get any better than that! Shop the day away and then jump in to cool off at the Trump Pool!
Encore Beach Club
Encore is Wynn Hotel's premiere beach club. and the entrance is located on Las Vegas Blvd. It's a super fun, upbeat venue for all ages. Pool lovers can enjoy music and the stunning poolside beauty under the moonlight, or in the daytime.
Be warned though; if you don't like loud rap music, you probably won't survive here ha ha! I'm not a fan of rap, but I endured it so I could swim and cool off. This pool club is usually very crowded, it's open on weekends only.
As with all beach clubs in Las Vegas, you have to pay and reserve cabana/bottle service or get on the guest list. Even amounts of men and women in a group generally get in for free. Women alone get in free, men do not.
Sahara Casino Resort
Get wet at the newest ultra pool in Las Vegas! Immerse your self in the Moroccan styled venue, an OFF the Strip resort! Azilo Ultra Pool offers an alluring atmosphere with lush greens and an elevated music experience. After a few hours you will feels submerged into a beautiful desert sanctuary.
This is another Vegas pool that is free to locals Monday-Thursday. I loved swimming here as there is a choice between the upper and lower pools. The water in the upper pool is cooler, making for a more refreshing swim in the desert heat.
If you live in Las Vegas, join the "
Meet Up" app and find groups your age that meet here often to swim. It's a safe way to meet new friends as newcomer to any city.
Hey friends, that wraps up my Las Vegas Pools Tour ! It's my goal to dip my toes in all the pools in Vegas, ha ! That probably won't be possible, since I'm not planning to live here long term. This list is just a drop in the bucket, there are SO many pools here!
